VLMs miss most lung nodules on chest x-rays

Six vision language models (VLMs) demonstrated poor performance in detecting lung nodules on chest X-rays, with significant clinical implications for AI-based medical imaging technology deployment. This finding highlights limitations in current AI medical device capabilities.
